Countdown to Easter as a family and spend the season meditating on 40 names & attributes of God. This digital download has everything you need to start a meaningful Lenten tradition, creating a daily rhythm of reflection and anticipation during the 40 days of Lent, beginning on Ash Wednesday and ending with Holy Week & Easter. The paper chain acts as a powerful visual reminder for children, and the prayer and Scripture cards offer meaningful devotional content adaptable to a wide range of ages.

On each day leading up to Easter, remove a link from the paper chain and read through the corresponding devotional card together. Each card leads your family to discover a name or attribute of God—20 from the Old Testament and 20 from the New Testament—supported by a specific Bible verse.

A “Read More” section offers an opportunity to go deeper with a longer story from Scripture that demonstrates the character of God on that card. Beginning at Creation, walking through the Old Testament, and ending with Jesus‘ ministry, death, and resurrection, these 40 stories walk through the broad gospel narrative as demonstrated throughout the larger story of the Bible. Families could either read these longer passages together or paraphrase them depending on the age of kids and time available.

Finally, each card ends with a short and simple prayer. In addition to the 40 devotional cards and paper chain, your digital download also includes a printable calendar outlining the dates for Lent 2023, so you won’t get lost andif you do happen to miss a day or two it’s easy to jump back in.
